Information on Tatting Patterns and Supplies

--George Bernard Shaw

Patterns

Sources for patterns, if known, are listed with each tatted item on my tatting site.

Some patterns I've used are from The Workbasket magazine, which is no longer in publication. Some Web sites that sell or trade old issues of The Workbasket are as follows:

Books by Workbasket magazine staff:

  • Tatting Patterns (Aunt Ellen's Treasury)
  • Lovely Laces: Crochet, Knit, Tat

I made up my own patterns for the handkerchief corners, but I have not typed up any directions. However, they are pretty basic.

Supplies

Handy Hands Tatting has great tatting supplies:

The Lace Store has a variety of linens:

  • hem-stitched linen guest towels (white and colors)
  • hem-stitched linen handkerchiefs (white and colors)
  • napkins, placemats, and more.
